] a broad road, called Silver Hill, leads [
] into the Meadfoot Road, and finally to Hesketh Crescent and to Meadfoot beach. [
]A handsome gateway leads into the gardens of Hesketh Crescent. This Crescent consists of a number of splendid residences facing the south and south-west, and occupying a warm and sheltered situation. The gardens appropriated to the inhabitants of the Crescent, are laid out with great taste; and both the houses and the grounds command fine views of a portion of Torbay, of the Channel, the cape of Berry head, and the picturesque island rocks, termed the Orestone and the Thatcher.[Text may be taken from a different source or edition than that listed as the source by Somers Cocks.]
