London: Sherwood & Co., c.1830. pp.139-140.Since the middle of the last century, the town has considerably increased, when it became known as a bathing-place, and it now certainly is the largest and most fashionable watering-place on the Devonshire coast. [
]The bathing-machines at Teignmouth are ready at six o'clock in the morning, and the conductors are in attendance till one or two in the afternoon.The hot-baths, near Spring-gardens, have every accommodation attached to them, and attendance from seven in the morning till ten at night. The public library, reading, billiard-room, and printing-office, is a new and elegant building, and its various departments are fitted up with every possible convenience.
