Scope and Content
Hutchinson, Peter Orlando. A new guide to Sidmouth and the neighbourhood. Sidmouth: Thomas Perry, 1857. p. 5. The north gallery was built by the Rev. W. Jenkins, the first of that name. In 1822 an old south porch was removed, and the south aisle, with its gallery, was erected. An old organ in the church was destroyed in Cromwell's days. Another was subsequently placed there: but in 1847, the present one, made by Dicker, of Exeter, was given by some liberal inhabitants.[Peter Hutchinson who drew and lithographed this print, and wrote this text, has also put his own monument into the church in the form of a stone slab on the aisle floor.][Text may be taken from a different source or edition than that listed as the source by Somers Cocks.]
