On the west of this is a division called Western Town, in which most of the remains of the old buildings of Sidmouth are to be found: it consists chiefly of poor low cottages, many of which will, probably, at the expiration of their present tenures, give place to buildings more suitable to those with which they are surrounded.[Text may be taken from a different source or edition than that listed as the source by Somers Cocks.]
