Luke, 1865. p. 45.THE BREAKWATER,[…] The first stone of the Breakwater was deposited on the 12th of April, 1812. By the following March the works were so far advanced that parts of its irregular surface were seen above low water. It was originally intended to erect a lighthouse at each end of the Breakwater.
