Scope and Content
Plymouth directory. [from The universal British directory.] 1795. pp. 261. Between Mount Edgcumbe and Plymouth are erected two baths, and near them an elegant building for a breakfasting or assembly room, called the Long Room, to accommodate the gentry who resort there. On the top of a neighbouring hill is a bowling-green, which commands a view equal to that at Mount Edgcumbe, and at Stonehouse, between Plymouth and the dock, is lately built a handsome bridge over the river Plym.[Text may be taken from a different source or edition than that listed as the source by Somers Cocks.]
