RULES & REGULATIONS to be observed by gangers and others employed on the permanent way and works of either of these railways. Plymouth: Printed by Samuel Bowering, May 18th, 1872. pp. 12 - 13.28. - During very stormy weather the Gangers must keep their districts watched by day and by night, and should their [sic] be any chance of a slip or other accident at any particular place, they must put on a watchman specially to watch it.30. - Should their be anything wrong on their districts, the Gangers must report it to their Superior Officer as soon as possible.33. - They are to be particularly careful that the line leading on to the truss ends off, and over the viaducts, is well packed, and the proper "cant" kept up. Anything unusual noticed in the viaducts on their respective lengths must be reported by telegraph from the nearest station (or when it can be done more speedily by special messenger) to the Engineer's Office immediately.[Text may be taken from a different source or edition than that listed as the source by Somers Cocks.]
