A guide to Ilfracombe and the neighbouring towns. Ilfracombe: John Banfield, 1830. pp. 3-4.Immediately above the harbour, to the north, is the Light-house, an old and singular building, wearing every appearance of having been a Chapel; but no trace of its origin is to be found. A room has been fitted up for the accommodation of the Inhabitants and Visiters [sic], during the summer months; providing a weekly paper, and a book for the insertion of Visiters' names; the whole of which is supported by subscription.[Text may be taken from a different source or edition than that listed as the source by Somers Cocks.]
