Scope and Content
Williams, T. H. A guide to the picturesque scenery and antiquities of Devonshire. Vol. I. Third Edition. Exeter: W. C. Pollard, 1830. p. 116.The course of the river, below, except at Bickham bridge, is confined within a narrow vale, which is its character until it again expands below Loddiswell; the paths are very good on the banks, and may be found more convenient than the unmacadamized roads adjoining. Continue the walk from the rocky scenery below Diptford, to Bickham bridge and mill; near the last object, keep in the wood path over the river, which leads to Gerah bridge.[Text may be taken from a different source or edition than that listed as the source by Somers Cocks.]
