Scope and Content
Cornelius's guide. DAWLISH: historical & topographical with sketches of the most attractive walks, drives and excursions. Second Edition. Dawlish: W. M. Cornelius, 1869. p. 61.
LANGDON HOUSE.The seat of William Cosens, Esq., (whose liberality is well known through the county,) is the next in order, and occupies a site formerly known as Paradise. The view from the house is charming - extensive land and sea views, the river Exe, Exmouth, and the coast of Dorsetshire in the distance. Langdon House was built by Mr. Cosens in 1830 and was included in the town district under the jurisdiction of the Local Board in 1860, at Mr. Cosens' request. The estate is considered to be a model of good farming. The view from the higher part of the Park is magnificent.[Text may be taken from a different source or edition than that listed as the source by Somers Cocks.]
