Scope and Content
Dugdale, James. The new British traveller or modern panorama of England and Wales. Vol. 2. London: J. Robins & Co. 1819. p. 117.Colyton Church is a large stone building , having an octagonal tower rising from the chancel. The De la Poles had a burying-place here on the south side of the chancel, in which are numerous decorations and effigies. In the small aisle between the church and chancel is the figure of a girl of about five years of age, reported to have been the grand-daughter of Edward IV. and to have been choaked by a fish-bone. She is represented standing under a stone canopy, and has the Royal and Courtenay arms over her. [Text may be taken from a different source or edition than that listed as the source by Somers Cocks.]
