Image shows display of eight naval cannons found at Bideford Quay. In pencil on verso: When quay was widened in 1889-90, mooring posts were taken up & found to be old cannon which were recovered originally from Graysands in the estuary. They were laid out in a row as shown in the photograph outside the Art & Technical School. I can remember them in this position about 1897. Later some were mounted & placed in Victoria Park. One or two, I think, landed on the dump at Little America
