A church is known to have occupied this site as early as 1191, and it is conjectured that it was used for this purpose at a much earlier date. The chancel and nave of the building shown in this photograph were erected about 1380. During the Commonwealth the churches of Exeter were sold, and Dr. Robert Vilvaine, a parishioner of All Hallows, bought his parish church for £50. Under the Exeter Corporation Act the Church was demolished in 1906 for the purpose fo street imporvements. It contained no architectural features of interest.
