First line:
During the continuance of their short journey, the fair friends found an inexhaustible source of conversation in the events of the morning and their joy received no inconsiderable addition from the Colonel's having seized on a favourable moment to tell them, in a whisper, that, on their coming to town, they were not to be separated, saying, at the same time, he would explain the cirucmstance , to which this change in Lady Dorothy's determinations was owing, when he met them at dinner.
